Trauma to Trafficked: The Road to Sexual Exploitation
Guest speaker Kellee Wheeler of Living in Liberty will be covering how women end up being sexually exploited. She will take us through how the vulnerable and unsuspecting become easy targets of traffickers. She will also cover the statistics both on a local and global level and expand on how this issue affects our local community. Finally, she will share how to protect kids (for the parents/grandparents in the audience) and what to do if you suspect someone in your life is being trafficked.
About Kellee:
Kellee Wheeler has been a national account manager for a global hospitality company since 2016. She loves problem solving and has a passion for education, both for herself and for those around her. Human trafficking became real to her when she spoke with a hotelier who was partnered with law enforcement for this very reason. She came to LIL following an internal call to action to shed light on a very dark subject. She took on the role of awareness and prevention lead and could not be more excited to be a part of something so meaningful. Kellee shares her life with her husband of 10 years and their 3 dogs.
