We are often in a hurried state of mind. We want improvements to happen in our world and we want them to happen NOW! Yet, do we spend sufficient time cultivating a relationship with the NOW moment? Living in the age of technology may create the expectation of instant gratification. Informational knowledge can come quickly, but wisdom is experientially derived. Life provides opportunities to slow us down, to shift from informational knowledge into wisdom. I call these opportunities the speed bumps of life.
Unity’s cofounder Myrtle Fillmore advised:
“God is the wisdom that can direct you into paths of peace and plenty. You cannot listen to God while your ear is given to your affairs. You can gain nothing by incessantly milling around in negative thought. You can gain all by quietly letting go of these outer appearances and laying hold of God.” Music by Lucy Clabby and Mila Shadel
