I Am That...I AM - Maryann Hackworth

ree

How often each day do we begin a statement by saying “I am…”

Have we ever considered the power that is contained within those words?

Today let us review and understand the Unity practice of affirmative prayer.

Our prayerful statements are not designed as beseeching wishlists for God, but rather, to intentionally harness and command the creative power of divine ideas that are inherently contained within our own consciousness. The words of the 13th century mystical poet Rumi remind us:

“The entire universe is inside you. Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion. Set your life on fire.” Music by Mariko Reid and Mila Shadel

UNITY PRINCIPLES

God is the source and creator of all; there is no other enduring power. God is good and present everywhere.

We are spiritual beings created in God's image. The spirit of God lives within each person; therefore all people are inherently good.

We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.

Through prayer and meditation, we increase our conscious contact with God, bringing forth love, wisdom, health, prosperity, and everything good.

Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough; we must live them!
